The smallest cabinet in the line that is still a serious loudspeaker. It sits on a desk or a stand at nearfield distance — roughly a metre from your face, for hours at a time. Everything about it gets examined at that range, so the joinery, the spline lines and the driver fit matter more here than anywhere else in the line.

Large standmount · two-way

Big enough to do real work in a real room, small enough to still be a standmount. The format takes no help from room loading and hides nothing about the design, which is why it is the one to put in front of anyone who measures what they listen to.

Floorstander

A floorstander has a proportion problem: tall and narrow reads as a tower, and a tower reads as audio equipment. The Stave sits on a plinth proud of its own footprint, which throws a shadow line at the floor and seats the cabinet as furniture instead.

Large floorstander

The largest cabinet in the line, and the one where a figured veneer or a more ambitious crossover earns its place. Built deeper rather than wider — a wide baffle at this height reads as bulk, and bulk is the wrong signal for the most considered object in the room.

Centre channel · sold singly

Most brands treat the centre channel as an afterthought — a wide plastic box that hides under a television and carries nearly every intelligible word in a film. This one is built to the same standard as everything else on the bench, because you will notice if it isn’t.

A different problem from everything else here. It goes in a bag, it gets knocked against door frames, it sits on a windowsill. Same hardwood and the same hand, but with instrument-case hardware — because a cabinet that travels needs to be built like something that travels.
